How your money is actually held.

The specific mechanisms, not adjectives. Where something isn't done yet, we say so on this page.

What actually protects your balance

Each of these is a mechanism that runs, not a policy we wrote down.

The books have to balance, or nothing trades

Your balance is derived from a double-entry ledger, never a cached number. A conservation audit runs across every currency and compares what the ledger says against what the wallets actually hold. If they disagree in either direction — money conjured or money leaked — the platform halts trading and alerts us, rather than carrying on with a number it cannot prove.

Keys the app cannot export

Wallet keys derive from a master seed sealed inside AWS KMS. The server can ask KMS to sign; it cannot read the seed back out.

Withdrawals gated twice

A withdrawal needs an approval record before it moves, and it can only reach an address already on your whitelist. Adding an address is itself a protected action.

A fresh challenge before money moves

Two-factor, biometric unlock and known-device tracking. Sensitive actions trigger a step-up challenge even inside an already valid session.

Limits that tighten by themselves

Daily caps scale with your verification tier. Single transfers over $10,000, or five inside five minutes, are flagged for review automatically.

An append-only record

Privileged actions — approvals, freezes, limit changes — are written to an audit log that operators cannot edit after the fact.

Plain-language terms

Terms, privacy policy and compliance documents written to be read, so you know what you are agreeing to.

Identity and monitoring

What runs today, stated plainly.

Identity verification

Verification runs through Sumsub — government ID plus a liveness check. Sanctions and PEP screening happen as part of that check.

Transaction monitoring

Velocity and threshold rules run after every transaction: daily caps by tier, large-transfer alerts, and rapid-fire detection.

Record keeping

We keep transaction records for the periods applicable law requires, and provide them to authorities on request.

Tiered limits

Unverified accounts are capped far below verified ones. Raising a limit means completing the matching verification tier.

Flags reach a person

An automated flag opens a case for manual review. We don't freeze an account on a rule alone.

Reporting

Where a jurisdiction requires suspicious-activity reporting, we file with the relevant financial intelligence unit.

What we haven't done yet

A trust page that lists only strengths isn't a trust page. This is the current state.

Licensing

Applications are in progress. tazdan is not a licensed bank and does not yet hold a money-transmission licence. When licences are granted we will publish the numbers here — not before.

Proof of reserves

Not published. The conservation audit above runs continuously and internally, but it is not third-party attested.

External security audit

Not completed. The platform has not yet had a published third-party penetration test.

Important disclosures

Crypto assets are highly volatile. The value of your portfolio can fall to zero. Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

tazdan is not a bank. Fiat balances held on the platform are not protected by government deposit insurance schemes (e.g. FDIC, FSCS).

Past performance of any crypto asset is not indicative of future results. No content on this platform constitutes financial advice.

P2P trades are between users. tazdan provides escrow infrastructure but is not a party to individual trades and does not guarantee counterparty performance beyond escrow release.

Services may be restricted or unavailable in certain jurisdictions due to local regulations. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with the laws of your country.

The virtual Visa card is issued by a licensed e-money institution. Cardholder terms from the card issuer apply in addition to our own terms.

tazdan reserves the right to freeze or close accounts found to be in violation of our terms of service, AML policy, or applicable law, with or without prior notice.
